LO1: Task 2: Analysing TV Adverts

Intro Task:
To be able to DESCRIBE and EXPLAIN the structures and techniques of television advertisements, using the appropriate terminology.

 WHO the ad is aimed at? Describe them demographically and psychographically

 this advert is aimed at everyone in the UK that owns a car,it appeals to them in many different ways and it makes the viewer and possible customers  more interested every time they watch it.
Demographically:this is aimed at people all over the UK and are used to

WHAT is being advertised and WHAT is specifically highlighted about the product (the benefits) in this advert? 
 in this advert there are three main things that are highlighter throughout the advert
    • first would be the car insurance
    • the big opera man, which sings the theme title and they were clever with this because they used a really catchy song to keep viewers entertained
    • they also use different scenarios each time to make sure that the viewers are always interested when watching
    • they also use comedy to keep the viewers entertained
    WHY this helps sell a product WHERE/WHEN this advert might appear in order to reach its target audience 
      to help sell this product, it could appear on our tv screens during the evening, because that's when everyone is watching TV, it could also appear during the day for older viewers.


      Apple iphone5 ad features

      who is this advert aimed at?

      Everyone who owns an Iphone5 or looking to buy and iPhone 5, demographically this could be anywhere in the world, but because this advert is being aired in the UK, it will appeal to UK citizens wanting to upgrade their phones

      What is being advertised?
      Apple iPhone 5, do not disturb function on the new iPhone 5, and how you are supposed to use and and how this function on the Iphone 5 can help you as a buyer.

      what is specifically being highlighted about the product?

      In this advert the do not disturb function on the new iphone5, they use Venus &Serena Williams, this advert is also showing how the function can help the viewer when it comes to not being disturbed while in the middle of doing something important

      Why does this help sell the product?

      They use professional tennis players playing table tennis to show how important the do not disturb function can be and how useful it is.

      Target Audience:

      13+ because our generation is about technology and children as young as 13 and over are given a mobile phone and some who's parents are making money are given the latest phone upgrades where as children who's parents cant afford upgrades for their parents are




      Nike: Write the Future

      WHO the ad is aimed at? Describe them demographically and psychographically

      demographically this advert is aimed at football lovers in the UK, which would be British Men and Young adults, it appeals to their every football needs and it advertises the great importance of how 'down to earth' these professional football players can be, it shows a different side to them completely, making the viewers more entertained.


      WHAT is being advertised and WHAT is specifically highlighted about the product (the benefits) in this ad?


      there are some main points in this advert that are being advertised the whole way through
      • Nike is being advertised,the whole way through the professional football players wearing Nike, tops while playing,towards the end they show us how the professionals lives would change if they scored a goal,
      •  in the advert they are also trying to advertise the players, showing different sides to them in a new environment that the viewers might not have particular seen them before which attracts the viewers attention even more
      WHY this helps sell a product WHERE/WHEN this advert might appear in order to reach its target audience
      this advert could be shown towards the evening, because that's when all the young adults and Men could be watching TV and might stumble across the advert, this will mean that they can witness the players they love and adore in an environment they are familiar with










      Weight Watchers - Patsy Kensit

      this advert is aimed mostly at women,between the ages of 18 and over and for those who are younger and trying to lose weight, demographically this advert is aimed at British women that are self conscious with their bodies and are wanting to try different ways to try and lose some weight.




      WHAT is being advertised and WHAT is specifically highlighted about the product (the benefits) in this ad?

      in this advert there are
      • different pictures of the patsy kensit, before she put on weight, showing the viewers what she was like then
      • there is also some self, encouraging  phrases that are used throughout the advert,where patsy kensit is talking about the way she felt before she put on the unnecessary weight
      WHY this helps sell a product WHERE/WHEN this advert might appear in order to reach its target audience 
      this advert could be shown through the day, where most women are at home, and is replayed again during the evening for those that miss their chance. this advert shows women different ways to try and lose weight









      We Buy Any Car


          WHO the ad is aimed at? Describe them demographically and psychographically

      this advert is aimed at people who want to sell their cars, it appeals to them in a very catchy tune which then makes them sing along and look at their website, demographically this advert is aimed at mainly, men/ women who own cars in Britain and want to sell their cars as fast as they can and make a good deal.

         WHAT is being advertised and WHAT is specifically highlighted about the product (the benefits) in this ad?
      • in this advert, the website is mainly advertised through the use of the song and making it really catchy and memorable
      • they also use different scenarios each time and the advert changes every fortnight, to keep the viewers interested

      WHY this helps sell a product WHERE/WHEN this advert might appear in order to reach its target audience 


      this advert could be advertised during the evening and also during the day for viewers to either watch the advert closely or for them to hear their catchy theme tune and go onto their site to see what it has to offer








      Comfort fabric conditioner

       
      WHO the ad is aimed at? Describe them demographically and psychographically

      this advert is a series,Demographically this advert is aimed at mainly household females around the ages of 30 or over. this advert talks about how the fabric softener can 
      change your clothes and make a difference to them.

      Working class women will be interested in this product and more likely to afford it, where as household mother would most likely to not be able to, due to the price range being so high.this advert appeals to our needs to have fresh smelling clothes.

      A family of stitched humanoid puppets is seen in the living room as they play at putting on a TV commercial show for the returning father. The mother introduces the new Comfort Bright as reducing colour loss in fabrics undergoing repeated washing. The narrator advises that the range helps keep clothes brighter, and the mother concludes 'us clothes are worth  it,comfort current advertising features a world made of cloth, known as Clothworld. The campaign follows the adventures of the Clothworld people, who take care of themselves using different Comfort products. 

      The Clothworld campaign first appeared in 2000 and was created by Unilever and Ogilvy and Mather.The original Clothworld characters were teenage couple Lisa Weaver and Darren Denim, who were made by Aardman Animation, the creators of Wallace and Gromit.

      Heineken – Sky fall

      WHO the ad is aimed at? Describe them demographically and psychographically

      This advert is aimed towards young people who like to drink, this advert is  a celebrity endorsement for the new James Bond character it also shows the rich and glorious lifestyle,this is because the movie sky fall is really interesting and fun to watch and it appeals to 18+ because parts of the movie are unsuitable for children younger than 18, the movie also  has comedy and some dramatic moments.
       
      WHAT is being advertised and WHAT is specifically highlighted about the product (the benefits) in this ad?
      in this advert there are three main things that are being advertised throughout the whole thing

      • one, would be the movie sky fall, which has hot cinemas, hiken have used the movie as a way to publise their new drink, so that in one way, they get to advertise there product and the movie.
      • two, the advert is also advertising the character, James Bond by showing the viewer that if they have this drink they can become fearless like James Bond.
      • three, the advert is also showing the viewer the high class lifestyle that is around, they use the drink to show that if the viewer goes out and buys their drink for a reasonable price, the drink is high class and an average person can go out and buy it

      this advert could be shown through the day and re-shown during the evening so that the viewer can see the product at peak times.





      NHS - Smoke Smoking

      WHO the ad is aimed at? Describe them demographically and psychographically
      The advert is a documentary style which is about the NHS style of campaign. 
      self-concerned, it shows the viewers what is happening each time they smoke and how its affecting their bodies.

      WHAT is being advertised and WHAT is specifically highlighted about the product (the benefits) in this advert?

      in this advert the most important thing that is being advertised the whole way through would be the internal smoking factors and how it affects the body and this advert also raises awareness to the viewer on the importance of not smoking.

      WHY this helps sell a product WHERE/WHEN this advert might appear in order to reach its target audience 


      This helps get the message of how smoking is bad across and help to lower the rate of health affects by smoking.
      The NHS smoking advert would be shown after health shows like super skinny vs super fat and during random in TV breaks.
